Summer is here, time for relaxing!!!

Ok, so maybe I didn't exactly keep up my promise when I took control of the website. It has been 6 months since I last posted......but I clearly have made up for it. Thanks to the "post options" you'd never know that you missed anything because I can easily change the dates to look as if I've been keeping up all this time.

So take special enjoyment in this post, since these pictures were taken just these past few weeks and this update can be done in real time, haha.

Here's what we've all been up to lately:

Chris has been working, helping me with baby preparations, enjoying special times with Lou and sneaking any computer time in that he can before our lives get hectic with the new baby.

Lou has been enjoying summer break and making excellent progress with potty training. We have definitely taken on this new venture with a series of steps to learning how to be a big boy, but progress is progress and Lou has been doing excellent. I love seeing the pride in his face when he knows he's making Momma happy. We still have a few more steps to conquer before we can claim complete success, but Lou is well on his way to being a "big boy". We will be going to Chuck E. Cheese on Monday to celebrate Lou's 4th birthday!!!

And as for me, well I'm just about as pregnant as pregnant can get, haha. I'm really starting to doubt that I'll make it to my due date of July 14th. I see the doctor every week now and although I haven't had any major complications thus far, my blood pressure has started to creep up the past few weeks. I've started to track it at home now and I try to make it a point to get off my feet and rest for a couple hours each day. I'll be esctatic to meet my baby girl no matter when she decided to show up, I just hope she can wait till July 1st!

Plato has always been an indoor/outdoor kitty and he has certainly relished in this since his sister kittens have arrived and have only been able to look out the windows. We want to wait until they are a little bigger before we let them too venture outdoors.

Here is a picture of Plato, bringing his latest catch to the patio door for the girls to see.

The girls love taking their afternoon nap cuddled up by the patio door here....waiting for Plato to come home or watching Lou and I in the pool.

The Ponzini feline family all crashing together on my desk.......where I should be getting my work done.

And the very cool Lou Ponzini, who asked for sunglasses today when we played in the pool. I can't believe he's going to be 4 years old on Monday! Where did my baby boy go???

Nursery preparations continue....

Lou has even wanted to offer his help when it comes to getting things ready for his baby sister. Here he is with his toolbox, building a "choo choo" train for her.

We were very thankful to inherit all the furniture, the crib and the wonderful bedspread here from Chris' parents. This furniture and bedding were a perfect match for the theme I had envisioned for the room.

Here is the border that we picked out. Very girly but not too much pink....and still matching my rose theme.

I got this crib bedding at a consignment store, it was such a great find!!!! I love that it also has all the colors we've incorporated into the room.

We've still got a lot of decorating and organizing to do, but it feels so good to have the room painted and the border up. And now that the crib is ready, I don't feel so anxious about the baby possibly coming early. It is impossible to walk in this room without smiling!!!

A great big thank you and I love you to my Sweetie, Chris.....for working so hard to get this all done for me and our new baby girl.

Painting the nursery!

Ever since I found out that our new baby will be a girl, I have been addicted to buying pink stuff for her and her room. So I was very excited the first weekend of June when we finally started getting the nursery ready. This was the first painting we've done in our new home.

Here is my wonderful husband moving and covering furniture.

I wanted a border at the top of the room so that meant that Chris had to sand down the bumpy texture to create a smooth surface for when we attach the border later on.

We taped off the doors and windows sills. Shadow, of course, was right there to offer her assistance, haha.

Plato couldn't keep himself from the room either.....he was very curious about the plastic on the floors.

And here's Princess, who found a safe place to sit after being thrown out of the room several times for getting in Chris' way.

Here is my most favorite shade of PINK!!!!

And my husband, looking adorable when sweaty and covered in pink paint splatters!!
